Kiki Ispachanidou, a blind marathon runner at ATR 2018

The happiness of participation and effort turns into willingness and action...
Kiki Ispachanidou, a blind marathon runner at Andros Trail Race 2018.
With no second thought we said yes to the suggestion of Andventure and Dimitris Rafropoulos to host in the trails of Andros a birth-blind marathon runner, Kiki Ispachanidou, something done for the first time in our country and really rare nationwide. She has participated in three 42km Marathons in Athens. Running is for her the ultimate way of entertainment and as she says, “the feeling of the air on the face when running is a divine touch”. Kiki lives in Athens with her three children and works twelve years in a public service.
Her biggest dream is to participate in mountain races and experience the feeling of the top. She hopes that Andros and her tops will be the start of making her dream come true.

Every reason why we started this “journey” is coming down to the participation of this athlete: the happiness of participation and effort turns into willingness and action. We wish that her example will inspire others and that outdoor activities know no limits and can reach out to anyone. We, in Andros Trail Race, are opening our arms and waiting for her.
Kiki Ispachanidou will be accompanied in this trail journey by Dimitris Raftopoulos- a kind soul hidden in a marathon runner, mountain and sea explorer- along with a small rope so that their hearts are “united”.
See you on 28th & 29th September.
